2017 a decent year for mutual fund investors

Net subscriptions into Finnish domiciled mutual funds totaled 4,5 billion euros in 2017. Due to favorable market movements the total net assets increased by an additional 5 billion euros. At the end of the year, the total net assets were 116,2 billion which is 9,5 billion euros and 8,9 percent higher than at the end of 2016.

During the year, most net subscriptions were made to asset allocation funds with 2,8 billion euros. Long-term bond funds received around a billion, short-term funds around half a billion and alternative funds 642 million euros in net subscriptions. On the other hand, net 484 million euros was redeemed from equity funds.
